Moved to Houston, TX in 1979 to begin work with Midland Marine Corp. as Shipyard Representative. Oversaw the merger with L&R Chartering in 1996 to form the now L&R Midland, Inc. based in Houston, Tx. Served as Vice Chairman and CEO, now Chairman and CEO as of 2013. Graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering 1977.

Shawn started his career as a Marine Broker at L&R Midland after graduating from Texas A&M University at Galveston with a degree in Maritime Administration and Economics. He specializes in the brokering of US-flagged ships, inland barges and OSV for chartering as well as sale and purchase. Experience covers virtually all segments of the offshore oil and gas market. Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oslo.
